We all should consider looking to the diet of a diabetic for overall health and wellness.

A main component of a Diabetic's Diet is balanced blood sugar throughout the day; that happens to be a plan that will work for most everyone.

A steady state of blood glucose (sugar) keeps the body in balance and prevents the body from storing extra calories.   By eating several small meals the body's systems know that more food will be coming soon and there is no concern for storing extra energy.

Eating several small meals tells your body it is not going to starve; starvation mode caused by irregular timing and size of meals.  Irregular meal intake is responsible for the roller coaster effect on blood sugar.  The more steady your blood sugar is, the healthier you will be.
