Find the Volumetric Diet info you're looking for right here!
Volumetrics relies heavily on foods with a high water content - such as many vegetables and fruits, which are 80% to 95% water -- since they will fill you up without adding a lot of calories.
"The Volumetrics Eating Plan" suggests that instead of counting calories, dieters should be concerned with the energy density of their foods. Barbara Rolls, Ph.D., recommends low energy density foods over foods that are high in energy density.
The Fullness Factor and the Glycemic Index are both nondimensional ratings which are used to predict your body's response to particular foods. While the Glycemic Index applies only to foods containing carbohydrates, the Fullness Factor can be used to evaluate all foods.
